August Short Report

Grace and Peace to you friends.

One of the things that I appreciate about the Hoover church is that one of their elders, Harold Rhodes, regularly visits and works in Tanzania.  After a recent visit, he shared the following update:

“Donna and I had a wonderful time on our visit to Tanzania this year. We left with tears in our eyes from the love we received from our family there. In most eyes doing a Mission Trip is about what you give, however for us it was about what we received. What a blessing from God to have Charles, Ahimidiwe and their families hosting us while in their country
“To the work we did! I visited and spent time with 20 Preachers, tour all 3 Bible Schools, delivered the Sunday morning message at Churches ( Kioga, and Karatu), I taught 8 sessions at Kisonga Bible School, and visited both Orphanages.
“The visits with the Preachers were productive as we discussed the challenges they are working through and the support needed to continue to grow the Kingdom. The greatest desire from the Preachers especially those out in the villages was support with campaigns. They see and many help with campaigns in the town, but need help in their villages too.
“There is so much more to say about my visit, but I must share another awesome event which brings glory to God by being a blessing to others. Mother Karen, Paulina, Mkunde, and Donna did 25 encouraging Bible studies with widows all around Arusha. They sang and prayed with them while delivering words of hope and encouragement from Scripture. They also left a “care package of food” enough to last the widows several months.
“I hope this summary gives you an idea how special it was to Donna and myself. It is our prayer that God will bless us to be able to go back next year and do more work in the Kingdom there!”

In Christ,
Harold

I have more good news, and an opportunity to share with you.  A friend of the work from Oklahoma has offered $11,000 in matching funds to build facilities for 4 congregations in Tanzania.  If we meet this challenge, then we’ll be able to help the congregations in Runzewe, Nyama Koma (Misungyi), Bonga, and Eshikesh Mbulu.  Would you like to take advantage of this opportunity to double the impact of your donation dollars?

ACSOP Short Report

Grace and Peace to you friends.

This has been a very busy month, and I’ll be sharing more about that with you soon.  However, for today I wanted to just give you an update specifically about the first semester of school at ACSOP.  Here are the words of Charles Mwanga, one of the directors:

“‘But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.’ (2 Tim.3:14,16). The Apostle Paul is writing to the young man Timothy, to assure him of the great work that God has started in him. Timothy has to been imparted with the knowledge that he learned from those who are faithful to the Lord in his life. This is the same thing we do here at the Andrew Connally School of Preaching. Imparting life who will go out full of zeal and will for the sake of the Kingdom.

“The school started on the second week of February having 22 students, and has been closed this past Friday,

“We were able to do the following things through God’s help.

1. The total number of 28 courses (14 in English and 14 in Swahili) were taught.

2. Two campaigns were conducted.

3. Seventy five Bible class were taught

4. Two courses of the Cy Stafford Schooll of Leadership went on these past two weeks.

“These and many other good things are continuing in the Kingdom, just because you chose to support and pray for this good work. Thank you so much.

“Please continue to pray for our students as they have returned to their homes and work with their local congregations. We are expecting them to bring changes and help their home congregations at this time. We are exited to start visiting them at their homes starting next month, to see how are they helping the church through what they have received.

“Thank you so much for all that you mean and do in His Kingdom.”

Let me add my thanks as well.  I appreciate all of your prayers and encouragement for the great work taking place at ACSOP

Short Report

Grace and Peace to you friends.

Recently, Charles Mwanga and Ahimidiwe Kimaro, the local directors of the Andrew Connally School of Preaching (BVBII-Arusha), had the chance to visit America.  Below are Ahimidiwe’s reflections on the trip:

ACSOP Directors trip to US.

“I thank God for been with us in all the time that we had in America and taking us back home safe. Also I will not forget brothers who have been a big help for us and took us where we were supposed to be.

“Our intension in traveling to the US was to give thanks to the churches, brothers and sister, for the fact that they have been supporting ACSOP and evangelism efforts without even knowing any local people. This is an encouragement for me when you are trusted that much. I know there some we could not reach due to the time limit but perhaps God will provide another time one day and bring our gratitudes to you. Philippians 1:3–8 (NKJV): “3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; 7 just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace. 8 For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.”

“We were able to reach many churches, schools and many leaders of the church. in different states. For instance, Mission Group at Freed-Hardeman University, Huntingdon church, leaders at Shady Grove church in Missouri, South Green St. church Kentucky, Hoover Church, Maysville church, elders and other leaders of Union Grove at ClevelandTn, West Side church in  Salem,  Virginia, Burn Flat church, 2nd and Adams church in Oklahoma, College Station elders and deacons in Texas, Keller TX, Tyler TX, Henderson TX, Longview, TX Faulkner University and many other brothers and sisters around places we visited.

“Its hard to me to believe how these brothers were happy and appreciative to see us in their congregation. The positive minds and true love motivated these brothers and churches to show hospitality to us all. Some have used their extra time to make sure we are comfortable there. I have learn many things on this trip, one of it is “try to your level best to trust others even if out of their sight”. Some of these brothers have a great faith on us and the ACSOP although have never being there or see any local people by sending money over. That is a great faith.

“Special thanks to some of our brothers who made this possible, Sidney Aultman and His family, (Hoover church elders) Daniel Gaines and his family, John Hall and his family, Michael Pruett from Huntngdon church, Brad Whinery and his wife. May God bless you for your extra time to Lord’s work in Tanzania”

In His Work.

Ahimidiwe Kimaro

Glad our brothers could visit, and glad they made it safely back home!  Be praying for the upcoming campaign season, as there will be a full slate of visitors going to Tanzania to work for the Lord there.  I look forward to telling you all about that soon!

February Short Report

Grace and peace to you friends.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being a part of the graduation ceremony for the Kilimanjaro Bible School.  Today, I would like to let Josephat Massawe tell you about it in his own words:

“Today was a very good day for the Kilimanjaro Bible School graduates, and the church in Moshi as both worked together to make sure that the graduation ceremony was successful.  Let it be known that, since 2008 Kilimanjaro Bible School graduation ceremonies have been taking of place  at the Andrew Connally School preaching. [But this year we brought the graduation ceremony back to Kilimanjaro Bible School to be able to promote and advertise the school around  the area it exists.]

“We thank God that our dream has come true today. We have had more than 100 people from various different places who came to witness graduation ceremony of their relatives and friends. We have received more 10, applicants for admission at KBS after the ceremony was over today.

“We were also very encouraged by the presence of Daniel Gaines who was our key note speaker at the graduation. Many people were blessed with the message he delivered.  Ahimidiwe, Charles and Michael from ACSOP showed us great cooperation, and we thank them for remarks they gave to to the students and all the guests.  Without forgetting Noel Stafford who gave powerful closing remarks that motivated graduation attendees want join the school.  Evance and Tumaini  have also been  mentoring and teaching the students.Their labor was not in vain as their work was remembered, and the students  offered them some gifts.

“I know there is a huge cloud of people who have always been working behind the scene to make all these happen.  We thank  for their involvement and support. We are looking forward to great improvement of our school.

Any congregation, individuals, that would like to partner with us  is greatly appreciated and welcome.”

In His Service,

Josephat.
